Visit the Royal Flying Circus Aviation Museum at Wisener Field
The Royal Flying Circus Aviation Museum is located on historic Mineola Wisener Field Airport (3F9) at 1412 Country Club Drive. The museum includes an array of vintage aircraft, automobiles, photographs and artifacts associated with the Golden Age of aviation and with the daring barnstormers such as Henry and Bryce Wisener who formed the original Aerobatic Royal Flying Circus group in 1926. The group performed all over Texas, the Midwest as far north as Minnesota, east to Ohio and west into New Mexico. From a WWI Curtis “Jenny” JN-4D (a WWI trainer) to a WW2 Stearman biplane (a WW2 trainer), a WW2 Link trainer to a T-34 Link trainer (children of all ages allowed in it) and from a 1912 Ford Model T touring car (airport car) to a 1949 MG-TC sports car we showcase the lives of colorful civilian and military flyers. The Mineola Wisener Field Airport began operations on July 4, 1917 as an emergency landing Field for United States Army Air Corp based at Love Field, Dallas, Texas.
